The Technical Project Manager (TPM) plays a key role within the IT Operations team, responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing a variety of technical infrastructure and operations projects. This role blends technical proficiency, project management expertise, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure successful delivery of IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, translate business and technical requirements into actionable deliverables, and drive projects to completion within scope, budget, and timeline. They will also maintain technical documentation, promote operational efficiency, and support continuous improvement efforts across the IT organization. This position is fully remote, with work hours aligned to Central Time Zone (CT).
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (technical and non-technical) to define project requirements, risks, and success criteria.
Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are met within scope, budget, and deadlines.
Facilitate project meetings, track progress, resolve blockers, and communicate status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Act as a technical liaison between IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined and understood.
Manage scope changes and dependencies, maintaining clear documentation and communication to all stakeholders.
Utilize JIRA, Monday.com, or SmartSheet for project tracking, task management, and reporting.
Ensure project documentation—including workflows, processes, and procedures—is accurate, updated, and accessible.
Drive accountability among team members and stakeholders to meet project milestones and deliverables.
Support vendor management to ensure efficient support and delivery of products and services.
Participate in security, compliance, and change management processes to align with IT and organizational policies.
Assist in root cause analysis, problem resolution, and emergency incident response as needed.
Provide technical process training and documentation for team members and stakeholders.
Collaborate with senior technical resources to define objectives, milestones, and achievable deliverables.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT Operations processes, standards, and methodologies.
Perform hands-on system and network administration tasks when necessary to support project implementation.
Generate professional communications and reports for leadership and cross departmental visibility.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
3–6 years of experience in Technical or Project Management within IT Operations or Infrastructure environments.
Proven experience managing technical projects involving systems, networking, or cloud infrastructure.
Strong proficiency with project management tools, including JIRA, Monday.com, or SmartSheet.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams).
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive conversations and build consensus.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated leadership and accountability in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
High emotional intelligence (EQ) and ability to de-escalate conflict and promote teamwork.
Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
Experience gathering and refining business and technical requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
MP, Agile, or Scrum Master certification (preferred).
Experience as a Business Analyst or in a technical liaison role.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint-based project delivery.
Background in infrastructure, network, or systems administration.

Work Hours: Must be available during Central Time Zone (CT) business hours.
